Lagoon is an upbeat intermediate marimba solo written to be performed on a 4-octave marimba. The lighthearted nature of the melody and chord progression help make this short and sweet solo enjoyable for both the performer and the audience. The inspiration to write this solo came from the pedal boat lagoon at Hermann Park in Houston, TX. On any given day, the lagoon is packed with people spending time with their families, exercising, and enjoying their day.
